Architected for Data Security

Coefficient sits on top of your data source systems. When the Coefficient application pulls data from your source systems into your spreadsheets, our servers make live API calls to your cloud data sources (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot, Looker) or perform live queries directly against your data warehouses and databases (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, MySQL).

Data imports using our Data Connectors are never stored on our servers. Cloud Datasets require storage - this feature is opt-in only and can be turned off using Admin Controls (more on Cloud Datasets here).

In our internal data stores, we persist only the necessary metadata about your source systems that allows our servers to issue API requests and database queries on your behalf. While a Coefficient import is being run, our servers might temporarily cache the data you requested, but only for as long as is required to complete the desired operation.

Cloud Infrastructure

Coefficient's backend infrastructure is hosted on AWS, a cloud provider with robust cloud security standards. We build on top of these proven standards, adopting additional security best practices where appropriate, in order to protect customer data and prevent unauthorized access to our systems.

Authentication

Coefficient makes use of Google's OAuth 2.0 mechanism for user authentication. Therefore, users do not have to create a separate set of credentials (i.e. username/password) for Coefficient.

In addition, for users in a Google Workspace organization, our Google OAuth-based authentication means that when someone leaves your organization—and their Google Workspace user account is deleted—that user loses access to Coefficient automatically.

Request to Delete My Data from Coefficient

If a customer requests that their data be removed from our databases there are a few steps involved:

  1. A formal request needs to be submitted through support@coefficient.io and a member of our team will assist you with your request.
  2. Coefficient will attempt to verify the owner of the data by sending a confirmation email. If you are not the owner of the data, we will need the owner to provide the formal request.
  3. Once confirmed, Coefficient will delete the requested data from our production systems.

ℹ️ NOTE: Once the data is deleted we cannot recover it again, so please make a backup/ save your data prior to submitting your request.
