Installing Coefficient

There are 2 ways to install Coefficient for your Google Account. Let’s go through them together.

1. From a new/existing Sheet click on the Extensions tab → Add-ons → Get add-ons.

This will open a window in your Sheet and take you to the Google Marketplace. Search for “Coefficient” and click “Install”. (If you have more than one Google Account, make sure you choose the right account when installing). You may need to grant access for the installation to proceed.

You may need to wait a few moments for the installation to complete, then you can proceed with Launching Coefficient (below). 🎉

2. Another way to install Coefficient is to navigate to our Home Page and click on the “Get Started Free” button in the top right corner. You will need to enter your email address (work email is preferred) or log in using your Google account. From here, you will be taken to our Quick Start sheet that will guide you further. 😎

Launching Coefficient

There are 2 main ways to launch Coefficient from Google Sheets once installed. Let’s go through each one. 🚀

Option 1: From a Sheet, click on the Extensions menu → Coefficient → Launch. This will launch the Coefficient sidebar on the right side of your screen.Screenshot 2023-10-26 at 2.34.33 AM.png

Option 2: Once you complete your first import in your sheet, Coefficient will create a few buttons that will appear in the header of your imports. One of those buttons is the “Open Sidebar”. (Users love this shortcut)

The Coefficient Header

The Coefficient header will appear on any import that you do. There are a few things to note that will give you insights into that tab and the data within it:

  1. Data Source Icon: The icon of the data source will appear on the left. (Example: Salesforce will have the cloud icon)
  2. Also on the left, you will see the last time your data was updated. This will let you know how fresh your data is.
  3. Open Sidebar Button: This button will launch the Coefficient sidebar from the Sheet. This is a nifty shortcut so you don’t have to navigate to Coefficient through the Google Sheets Extensions Menu.
  4. Refresh Button: This is also an extremely handy button, as it will manually refresh the data within that Sheet on demand. You may have imports that are scheduled to refresh (more on that later), but in between the scheduled refresh times, you may need to refresh the data for a meeting or an update. This is a game-changer!Screenshot_2023-04-12_at_8.46.28_PM.png

Connecting to a Data Source and Creating Your First Import
