ℹ️ NOTE: Coefficient will need the following information: Account URL to set up a successful connection with Zendesk.
1. Open the Coefficient Sidebar and click the Menu. |
2. Select “Connected Sources”. |
3. Select “Add Connection” at the bottom and then “Connect” to Zendesk. |

Import from Zendesk
There are 2 different ways to import data using Coefficient from Zendesk, “Start from Scratch” or from a “Saved View”. Starting from Scratch allows you to build a new import with the specific data you are looking for, importing from a Saved View allows you to pull in an existing view and build up.
Start from Scratch
1. From the Sidebar select “Import from…”. |
2. Select “Zendesk” from the list. |
3. Select “Start from Scratch”. |
4. Customize by adding filters as needed. ℹ️ NOTE: The filters use standard Zendesk fields, not custom fields (so if you have a custom priority field it will not be shown here). |
5. Add/Select your dates. You can also specify a specific date range. (Example: Tickets from January 1, 2022, to March 31, 2022, or Q1-2022). Then click “Select Fields”. |
6. Select the fields for your import (check/uncheck the boxes).
ℹ️ NOTE: Custom fields will have an "i-icon" next to them in the list. This is meant to help you distinguish between Standard and Custom Fields that may share the same name. Fields/column header order can be adjusted by dragging and dropping the column to reflect the desired order. Then select "Done".
7. From this screen you can sort the import results, limit the results, and name your import (unique names are recommended). Then click “Import”. |
8. Congratulations on your Zendesk import with Coefficient!!! 🎉 |
Saved View
1. From the Sidebar select “Import from…”. |
2. Select “Zendesk” from the list. |
3. Select "From Saved Views". |
4. Select the Saved View you would like to start with. |
5. The fields in the Saved view are automatically added but you also have the option to remove or add any fields to include in the import by clicking "Edit fields". |
6. In the Import Preview, check/uncheck the boxes of the fields you want to include/exclude. |
7. The Import Preview will show you the fields selected and a sample of the data for this import. You can reorder the fields by dragging and dropping them as needed.
|
8. From this screen you can sort the import results, limit the results, and name your import (unique names are recommended). Then click “Import”. |
9. Congratulations on your Zendesk import from a Saved View! 🎉

FAQs for Zendesk
I see two fields with the same name. How do I know which one is the custom field that I created and not the standard field in Zendesk?
Coefficient visually notates custom fields with an ℹ️ icon in the field list so you can clearly see which field is a standard field and which is a custom field.

I cannot import more than 1,000 rows of data from Zendesk. What should I do?
Due to Zendesk API limitations, whenever you create an import from scratch and have added some filters to it, only the first 1k rows are pulled in. As a workaround, you can remove the filters and import all the records into your spreadsheet then use the native Google Sheets or Excel filters to your data. Alternatively, you can also create a Saved View from Zendesk and select that view when you import your data into your spreadsheet (screenshot). |
What is the maximum number of rows I can import from Zendesk?
The Zendesk API currently restricts each import to a maximum of 10,000 rows. As APIs are continually being enhanced and updated, we will keep you informed if this limit changes in the future.
How can I import archived tickets from Zendesk?
Due to limitations with the Zendesk API, Coefficient does not support imports with archived tickets. Please contact support@coefficient.io if you would like to log this as a feature request.
