Connecting to Microsoft Ads

When you begin a Microsoft Ads import for the first time, you will need to follow a few steps to connect your account to Coefficient before you can import data from Microsoft Ads to Google Sheets/Excel using Coefficient.

1. Open the Coefficient Sidebar and click the Menu.

2. Select “Connected Sources”.

3. Select “Add Connection” at the bottom and then “Connect” to Microsoft Ads.

4. “Authorize” the connection.

5. Sign in to your Microsoft Ads account. You will be redirected back to Google Sheets once the connection is established.

Import from Scratch with Microsoft Ads

1. From the Coefficient Sidebar, select “Import from…”.

2. Choose “Microsoft Ads” from the list.

3. Select “Start from scratch.”

4. Select your Microsoft Ads account from the “Import Preview” window. Select “Next”.

ℹ️ NOTE: This screen will only appear if you have multiple accounts to select from - if you do not have multiple accounts, you will not see this screen - you can proceed to step 5 below.Screenshot 2024-03-07 at 6.15.44 AM.png

5. Select a report from those listed. (example: ”Campaign Performance”). Popular reports are displayed at the top, but you can scroll down to find Other reports. Screenshot 2024-03-07 at 6.16.48 AM.png6. Select fields for the Metrics, Dimensions, and Time Granularity needed for your import. Click inside the white box area for each section to search for the fields you need. The data previewer shows a sample of the data from the fields you select.  Screenshot 2024-03-07 at 6.20.07 AM.png7. Customize your import by adding filters and adjusting the data range. Click the “Refresh Preview” option to update the sample data based on the customizations that have been added. Then “Import”Screenshot 2024-03-07 at 6.23.46 AM.png8. FAQs for Microsoft Ads

My import shows a 'Mandatory dimensions missing' error on my import. What can I do?

Due to Microsoft's API limitations, you may see this error when combining metrics and dimensions for your import. If this error appears, please check the suggestions for the dimensions to add, update, and try your import again. MS Ads.png
