Connecting to AWS Billing
Before creating an import from AWS Billing for the first time, you will need to go through a few steps to connect it as a data source for Coefficient.
1. Open the Coefficient Sidebar and click on the Menu. |
2. Select “Connected Sources”. |
3. Select “Add Connection” at the bottom and then “Connect” to AWS Billing. |
4. Enter your "AWS Access Key ID" and "AWS Access Key Secret" credentials, then click "Connect". ℹ️ NOTE: If you need help creating your AWS Access Key ID and Secret, follow the steps here. |
OPTIONAL: Once the connection is successfully established, you can share it with your team members who also use Coefficient. Your credentials will remain secure and will not be shared. Click "Import data..." to proceed. |
Import from AWS Billing
1. Open the Coefficient Sidebar and click on the “Import from…” button. |
2. Select “AWS Billing” from the list. |
3. Select "From Objects & Fields".

4. Enter the Metrics, Granularity, and Group By options in the Import Preview window. (A sample of 50 rows will show in the Import Preview window)
ℹ️ NOTE: The sample data will update when you click "Refresh Preview" after modifying the import criteria.
5. You can customize your import with filters and date range(s). When done, click Import.

Where can I find my AWS Access Key ID and AWS Key Secret?
Below are the steps to create your AWS Access Key ID and Secret:
1. Login to your AWS account by using this link. Click on your profile on the upper right and select "Security credentials".
2. Under the "Access Key" section, click "Create access key".
3. Select 'Other' as the use-case, then click Next.
4. Set a tag description for your access key, then click "Create access key" to proceed.
(eg. Coefficient Connector).
5. Copy the Access Key and Secret one at a time and paste them into the Coefficient sidebar.
