Coefficient’s Egnyte integration allows you to import Excel and CSV files stored in Egnyte directly into Google Sheets or Excel—without the need to manually download and reupload files.

Once connected, you can select a supported file from your Egnyte instance and bring its data into a working spreadsheet for analysis, reporting, dashboards, and filtering. Scheduled refreshes ensure your spreadsheet stays in sync with the source file in Egnyte, so your data remains current as files are updated.

This integration is ideal for teams that store structured data in Excel or CSV files within Egnyte and want a more automated, reliable way to work with that data in Sheets or Excel. 👏🏼

Connecting to Egnyte

Before completing your first import, you will need to connect/authorize Coefficient for Egnyte.

1. Open the Coefficient Sidebar and click the Menu.

2. Select “Connected Sources”.

3. Scroll to the bottom part of the screen and click on Add Connection. From the next screen, select Egnyte.

4. Enter your domain in the text box and click on Authorize. E.g, "my-domain" from my-domain.egnyte.com

Import from Excel

You can take an Excel file stored in Egnyte and import it into a working spreadsheet, enabling dashboards, live data analysis, and filtering, which boosts productivity. 📈

1. From the Sidebar, select “Import from…”.

2. Click on "Files".

3. Select "Excel" from the list.

5. A window will open, allowing you to browse and select the Excel file you’d like to import using Coefficient. Depending on where the file is stored within your Egnyte instance, you may need to navigate through multiple folders to locate it. 6. Select from the available Tab, Range, and Header options provided. Click on Next.

Tab - select the specific Tab that needs to be imported into the workbook/spreadsheet

Range - Choose between Entire Tab to import all rows or Specific Range if only specific rows are to be imported

Header - Select First Row as the header or No header

7. Review and select the columns you’d like to include in your import, then provide a name for the import.
Optionally, you can add filters, sort results, or adjust Advanced Settings as needed.

Import from CSV

Coefficient lets you transform CSV files stored in Egnyte into an analysis-ready format—without manually downloading and reuploading files. 😎

1. From the Sidebar, select “Import from…”.

4. Choose Egnyte from the source options.

5. Select the CSV file you’d like to import into your spreadsheet or workbook. Depending on where the file is stored in your Egnyte instance, you may need to navigate through multiple folders to locate it. 6. Review and select the columns you’d like to include in your import. Add filters here if needed.

7. Provide a name for the import.

Advanced Settings:

Skip: You may skip non-header rows to ensure the import starts on the first header row. 

Custom Delimiter: This can be used/modified based on the characters in the file.

What file types are supported with the Egnyte integration?

The Egnyte integration supports importing the following file types into Google Sheets or Excel:

  • CSV files (.csv)
  • Excel files (.xlsx, .xls, .xlsm, .xlsb)
