Connecting to Mode

When you begin a Mode import for the first time, you will need to go through a few steps to connect to Mode as a data source for Coefficient.

1. Open the Coefficient Sidebar and click the Menu.

2. Select “Connected Sources”.

3. Select “Add Connection” at the bottom and then “Connect” to Mode.

4. Generate an API Key for your account in Mode ℹ️ NOTE: If an API Token is not yet created for your account, you can create API tokens in your Mode Workspace Settings under Features > API Keys. Only Workspace Admins can create tokens. Your workspace name is the value in the URL when you access Mode (e.g., app.mode.com/your-workspace). For more details, see the Mode API authentication docs.

5. Enter the API Key generated from your Mode account and click Connect.

6. When successful, you can proceed with creating an import by interacting with the AI chat screen for Mode.

1. Open the Coefficient Sidebar and click on the “Import from…” button.

2. Select “Mode” from the list.

3. Enter a clear and specific prompt describing your request for the data you need from Mode.

4. Fields relating to your request will appear in the sidebar for you to select/unselect to include in your import. Click on "Add fields" to show all available fields. Click "Import" to proceed.

5. Please allow a moment for the agent to generate your import. (The results will appear shortly.) Congratulations on creating your first Mode import through the agent chat! 🎉

How can I update or add filters to refine the data in my Mode import?

To edit your import, open it from the sidebar and click “Edit this import” under the summary section (see screenshot). From there, enter a new prompt in the agent chat describing the updates you’d like to make (such as adding filters or adjusting sorting).

Can I schedule my import for auto-refresh after it has been created by the agent?

How can I update the API key for my Mode data source connection?

When you edit your import and open the Agent Chat, the AI will automatically detect if your API credentials are no longer valid. If needed, you’ll be prompted within the chat to update or enter a new API token and secret.

How can I provide feedback about my experience with the agent chat?

After your import is created, a prompt will appear in the sidebar allowing you to share your experience with the agent by selecting like or dislike.  Your feedback helps us continue to improve the experience. 🙏🏼
