Connecting to SimFin
When you begin a SimFin import for the first time, you will need to go through a few steps to connect to SimFin as a data source for Coefficient.

1. Open the Coefficient Sidebar and click the Menu. |
2. Select “Connected Sources”. |
3. Select “Add Connection” at the bottom and then “Connect” to SimFin. |

4. Generate an API Key for your account in SimFin. ℹ️ NOTE: Here's how to get your SimFin API Key:

5. Enter the API Key generated from your SimFin account and click Connect. |
6. When successful, you can proceed with creating an import by clicking the "Import data..." button at the bottom. |
Import from SimFin

1. Open the Coefficient Sidebar and click on the “Import from…” button. |
2. Select “SimFin” from the list. |

3. Enter a clear and specific prompt describing your request for the data you need from SimFin. |
4. Fields relating to your request will appear in the sidebar for you to select/unselect to include in your import. Click on "Add fields" to show all available fields. Click "Import" to proceed. |
5. Please allow a moment for the agent to generate your import. (The results will appear shortly.) Congratulations on creating your first SimFin import through the agent chat! 🎉

How can I update or add filters to refine the data in my SimFin import?

To edit your import, open it from the sidebar and click “Edit this import” under the summary section (see screenshot). From there, enter a new prompt in the agent chat describing the updates you’d like to make (such as adding filters or adjusting sorting). |
Can I schedule my import for auto-refresh after it has been created by the agent?
Yes, once your import has been created by the agent, you can schedule it to auto-refresh from the “Refresh Schedule” section in the sidebar.
How can I update the API key for my SimFin data source connection?
When you edit your import and open the Agent Chat, the AI will automatically detect if your API key is no longer valid. If needed, you’ll be prompted within the chat to update or enter a new API key.
How can I provide feedback about my experience with the agent chat?
